 The site also includes an image house with a well-preserved Buddha statue. Medirigiriya Watadage was a significant center of worship and pilgrimage in ancient times...

It underwent several restorations, reflecting its enduring importance through successive periods of Sri Lankan history. The surrounding area contains ruins of monasteries and other structures, indicating a once-thriving monastic community. 

Today, Medirigiriya Watadage is a popular tourist attraction and an important archaeological site, offering insights into Sri Lanka's rich cultural and religious heritage.❤️
